Just got my copy of Ilona Meagher's Moving To Care

by rcs1

And was delighted to see her wonderful kudos to all the folks here (which, of course, just speaks volumes about the kind of person we all know Ilona to be). Anyway, I knew she wouldn't mind if I quoted her from her acknowledgements:
To my ePluribus Media mentors and colleagues: You are a citizen journalist's best friend. My success is directly linked to the ideas, leads, advice, moral support, editing, fact-checking, friend-ship and dozens of other resources and opportunities you have given me. An enormous amount of appreciation goes to JeninRI, literally responsible for the PTSD Timeline's existence (along with programmer extraordinaire LeftyLimblog), and the driving force behind the fact-checking of every incident in its database. To D.E.Ford, MSW and retired Naval Commander Jeff Huber: thank you for scooping me up and letting me work with two pros. Thanks to everyone behind the scenes, too: standingup, kfred, Aaron Barlow, Barbara J. Schulz, radish, Roxy, Susie Dow, Kay Shepherd, Andrew Brenner, Timothy D. Smith, Greyhawk, luaptifer, Todd Johnson, Welshman, Chris White, intranets, rba, clammyc and the rest of the gifted gang at ePluribus Media.
Thank you Ilona! It's amazing that in the midst of all your busy schedules, you are able to take time to thank the people here.

public notice :: :: :: buzz-it!
PS. The book is really a must read. In case you guys missed Aaron Barlow's terrific review...In the Aftermath: A Review of Moving a Nation to Care: Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder and America's Returning Troops
Display:
Tomorrow to 1480 KPHX Progressive Talk Phoenix, Streaming, to About Face as Ilona will be featured again.

Thanks for reminding me Cho.

Times are abit tricky, as it's on at 11AM Phoenix time but they aren't on Daylight Savings, so the East Coast picks it up at 2PM.

that Ilona provides her special brand of thanks to you too, Jim, tho as you know she mentions you when she thanks the military families and the returning troops.

As always, I add my thanks to you for all your service, in Vietnam, now, and in all your projects such as the moving Arlington South.

and I've said it before, Wish we had this technology back than, while complicated it Most Certainly Gets Alot Accomplished In A Short Time Frame.

And believe me, the older one gets the shorter the time frame, even though the minutes and hours don't change, they just go faster.

Now if I could win the lottery, or something, where I could eat and pay the bills and have time to really get many things done.

Thanks though,my little bit adds to the mucho others do to make things happen, and you folks still haven't realized All that you've Accomplished, You Will Though!!!

And you, good sir, are a force to be reckoned with in your own right!

Thank you again.

I think it's pretty remarkable that you work, keep up with all of the posting you do on Vet's issues and still find time for the volunteer work.  The Memorial Day tribute for the Iraq Vets was amazing.

What a lovely thing to arrive home to, Cho.

Had to run a few errands before stores closed, and am now playing catch-up after being on vacation and playing all week. We had a great time. I'm  recharged and ready for tomorrow's About Face program (^5 and thx Jim for the links; and yes, the show tapes at 11 am Phoenix time, 1 pm Central/2pm Eastern). Then beginning the second leg of the tour on Monday night.

I'm going to get a post up on it next, so I may not be able to get to everyone's comments, tonight; but, wanted to say a quick thank you so much for every word and deed, guys. Mutual admiration society with all of you; I don't have as much time as I'd like to read all the fine writing and reporting on the issues, one more important than the next, that everyone in the ePMedia family is producing, but I dart in and out enough to know that it's top notch.

I'm really glad to be a part of what's going on around here.

And, my dear Cho. You're so funny. And so sweet.

And busted.

You forgot to continue quoting. You know, to include where you're mentioned? [wink] You know those letters immediately after the lines you shared?

A special word of thanks to Cho. Our ePMedia collaborations, your solid professional advice and kind personal mentorship coupled with the sheer power to move mountains when it comes to making a deadline are a thing of beauty.

I could go on. Actually, I did, but it was snipped in the final version of the book.

Your input and editing help were an invaluable gift, Cho.

Thank you so much...

never thought I would have been in her acknowledgments.  Not for any other reason than I never knew that I had any impact...

wow, thx so much, Ilona.  You are an inspiration.

Don't sell yourself short, you put out some great stuff, now if I had the gift of word instead of thinking mostly in pics, I could be so accomplished.

But the thinking helps in the trades, trouble is trying to explain to those that can't see it ahead themselves.

you sent out it looks like Ilona will be receiving quite a warm welcome in Oceanside.  It must be great to know you have friends there supporting you when traveling for book signings.

Don't forget we are hoping for a few pictures!

Except I think you've got it backwards. You've no idea what I've learnt from the work you've been doing in the short time I've known about you and it. You are the one who is due the thanks.
