Framing the Debate ... Discussion

by rcs1

ePluribus Media Book Review Editor Carol White assesses Jeffrey Feldman's Framing the Debate: Famous Presidential Speeches and How Progressives Can Use Them to Change the Conversation (And Win Elections) with introduction by George Lakoff.

Feldman's book was reviewed less than favorably by Eve Fairbanks in The New York Times.

White lauds Feldman, remarking, "He gives a brilliant example how one might frame the argument for universal health care today by using an astonishingly simple device. He quotes from FDR's 1933 First Inaugural Address, which begins with the famous line:
The money changers have fled from their high seats in the temple of our civilization ..."

Very well-written! I felt the review was much more of a discussion than just an opinion which I really appreciated. In fact, I liked the review so much, I got worried the book might not stand up to it!

I think books are a great way to develop one's point of view. I have a number in mind, but I hope some of you will pitchin.
