Mid Month News --
Note the cool new blogad by Avahome and Roxy-- And Huge SHOUT OUT to Roxy for converting the U.S. Attorney data dump into files that can be searched. We are not worthy!

Jeff Huber has been asked to provide a weekly column for Military News. Here's a link that provides a headshot of Jeff along with some of the fine company (/snark -- is that really Ollie?) he is keeping. As someone emailed this past month, "I get all the news I need from rba and Jeff." Nice to see him get this gig!

Welshman was a guest editor on Juan Cole's Informed Comment and ePluribus Media received an invite to speak to Wisconsin editors about "citizen journalism" and ePluribus Media. More about this exciting opportunity to come!

And even better, Ilona Meagher has been asked to participate on the YearlyKos 2007 Veterans panel. She's been working so hard, and now the well-deserved acolades are rolling in. Here's another issue that the citizen journalists (if you will) have pushed the agenda into the public sphere.

more below the fold.

public notice :: :: :: buzz-it!
Carol White is the new Book Editor, taking over from Aaron Barlow, whose plate just got too full -- He's busy working on the Columbia Journalism school Sulzberger project. Carol has edited a small science journal. She is presently a free-lance writer, who writes covers the arts and related matters for her local newspaper.

Roxy, who works tirelessly behind the scenes to keep the face of the ePluribus Media Journal gorgeous and current, has been elected to the ePluribus Media Board of Directors, filling a vacancy that has been open for over a year. She will definitely help guide us to better things!

Speaking of the public sphere, Drs. Shields and Cragan's study on the politicization of Judicial Investigations landed Shields on Colbert and Cragan on NPR. Paul Krugman wrote about their study published on our Journal and Avahome, Roxy, standingup, Biblio, Greyhawk, RayneToday, Land of Enchantment, Duke1676, Clammyc, Bronxdem, JeninRI, Aaron Barlow, KagroX and many many others continue to push the stories of the Gonzales Firings.

Fact-checked is, well, um -fact-checked.  There is no uncertainty about it's meaning.

You pinpointed how "Vetted" could actually be used with marketing spin.

As for accomplishments for ePluribusMedia?  We've just been flyingly busy without props, just arms.

As for Jeff's picture, had to chuckle, yep - just how I pictured him.

So many great people here contributing every day and in every way!!!!!!!! Kudos to you all and thanks, Cho, for taking the time to point some of the recent accomplishments out.

We've still got a lot of work to do........and it just keeps on getting better and better as we stretch our parameters..........NO FEAR!

I have volunteered to coordinate book reviews as well as write them. I have a number in mind, but I am sure many of you do to.

Even, if you just have suggestions for the rest of us to review, please forward them to me and I can post your ideas and ask for volunteers

There might be some of you who would enjoy reviewing--though I can't think who because those people I know are soooo busy and prolific--who don't have a specific book in mind. If so I will likewise be happy to suggest books to you.

I can be reached at carolwhite100@gmail.com

Oh my God, the Commander looks exactly like I always pictured him!

Incredibly, I have encountered a number of educated, sentient beings who do not have the foggiest about what I mean when I use the word "vetted".  One asked me if I was doing a Zsa Zsa Gabor imitation. LOL. So I vote for "Fact Checked".  However, nothing being perfect, I am sure some creature will ask me if I don't mean "Fact Czecked".

Great photo of the Commander, huh? I cannot wait to see him in a well deserved slot on CNN or MSNBC as an "analyst".  I can think of no other who could handle himself better in that capacity.  Oh and Suz-he's T-A-L-L with what he describes as "comic book shoulders".  One of the wittiest people I have ever met--that is except for Cho and ummmm Standing Up! Oh, and BarbinMD! And Luapt!
