Did you go shopping on Friday?

by rcs1

This is an informal survey of America's economic health.

Did you go shopping on Friday and if you did, did you buy anything? I bought gas for the old clunk'r and some groceries.

I bought peas, potatoes, garlic and flour which I think can be considered OK purchases. But I also bought a $2.50 pastry brush. See I like to bake bread. I think that might be a luxury item. Anyway I definitely am in the scrooge camp. No presents for anyone although food for husband and me.

My sentiments exactly but I felt I should at least acknowledge I bought food.

I'm just not into the holiday spirit this year.

NOT shopping on the day after Thanksgiving.  I hate shopping -- any time -- and that day is the worst.

As I drove by on Friday the malls looked full. Come Tuesday, Wall Street will let us know if anyone was actually buying or not. If they're too quiet, it means the stores didn't do enough business.

Are you feeling the shopping spirit, too broke to shop or are you just sick of consumer crap and going Scrooge this year?

I'm leaning Scrooge.

Tuesday Morning had a sheet sale...I needed sheets!
Now this is a pretty good place to get the most bang for your buck.  Needless to say, there were not many people in the store...which I liken to overstock.com.

Really, no matter where I have been lately, I don't see people with bags in their hands....

We all seem to hit the grocery store at the same time...ho ho ho...the music is killing me!

Everything is SHOOOTING UP in price. I get my King Arthur's bread flour and it had gone up almost a dollar since the last time I noticed. Fruit and veg are really high.
