Election reform is sorely needed

by rcs1

The election system needs to get back to basics.  All electronic and mechanical vote tallying systems in use today are subject to rigging.  A return to an election system of hand-counted paper ballots is a necessity. Democracy depends on open, free, and fair elections.  Do your patriotic duty and demand a return to paper ballots marked by voters and tallied by precinct poll workers with public observers in all the individual precincts immediately after the voting is officially terminated.

commentary :: :: :: buzz-it!
The Help America Vote Act (HAVA) provided 3.9 billion dollars to purchase electronic voting machines.  Unfortunately there is no system currently available that is safe from rigging and manipulation. To return to a truly democracy form of government the electronic vote tallying systems will have to be replaced by a public and open system of hand counting paper ballots in each precinct.
