ePluribus Media 2.0

Update!!: The sites will be are migrating over the Thanksgiving Weekend. You can expect some hiccups and maybe brief intervals when the sites will be unavailable. This is to be expected.

Please bear with us as we get things moved. We thank you in advance for your patience.

The community spoke and we listened.

We have been compiling a "wish-list" for quite some time and although we have tried to make the existing framework meet those needs, there are deficiencies in the software that we just can't work around. So, the technology team has been busy putting together ePluribus Media 2.0 and they are finally ready for "show and tell".

  • Tags! we got 'em.
  • Image galleries! we got 'em
  • Embed videos! yup ... got that too!

We have tried to keep things as much the same as possible, and at the same time provide enriched features.

commentary :: :: :: buzz-it!

We will be officially moving to the new sites on [or before] December 1st. We encourage all of you to start using the new sites. Try them out, create an account and post an entry at the new community site, and then get back to us with any questions, problems, errors or omissions you may find in your exploration.

You will find a longer explanation of the new sites and features on the front page of the new community site.

Please give us your feedback! Leave a comment here, or over on the new site -- if you prefer you can send an email.

Look for more updates as we approach the migration date ....

On the new "discuss" site, looks like the sections are now gone, as is the "right side" list.  How's that going to work for posters when every entry is "front-paged"?  What changes for "editors"?

The site front page works the same as always ... and has to have an editor promote the commentary.  The Commentary front page works like the "Recent Commentaries" list we now have in the right hand column. Then each individual poster has their own "front page" -- as an example, here is mine.

We are trying to trim down the navigation on the right side, and have eliminated the left hand navigation completely.  Trying to keep a "cleaner" look.

with the new site for the same functionality.  Posts can be tagged as "Daily News" or any of the other subsections and anyone can use the tag to pull up posts that would fall under those subsections.

Thank you for getting back, and I'm sorry I haven't touched base again.

Same old, same old: swamped. Trying like mad to dig out so that I can begin the timeline work again, but things are coming fast and quick these days with all of this PTSD breaking news and coverage, and I've been inundated with emails and calls.

I know they say be careful what you wish for!

Thank you.

Kudos, nice job!

Even excepts 'Blip TV' video's with No Problem!

Had to drop the four I got last night on the CBS suicide report from YouTube, they raced the vids thus cutting them short. Put them up on Blip and they work fine.

Here's the one I just posted with the video's.

Tried a post, tried a comment, and gave the comment ratings a shake or two... Nice looking site.

it is much appreciated. :)

Seems like I just got back in time!

I think that I will join Drinkingliberally in celebration and get plastered (er...is that only a Brit expression for drinking too liberally?)

From strength to strength for ePluribus Media - like a well conducted tasting of various malt whiskies.

Yes and no... It's also a pun on cut'n'pasting on many Blogs. :)

And for the record my favorite drinks (and pretty much in order):
Coffee
Chocolate Milk
Beer (Real beer, not Budweiser junk)
Brandy/Cognac
Wine

I used to hate whiskey. Then my cousin's husband gave me a few tastes of, and explained the difference between, many cheap brands and the good tasting ones. He goes to a monthly whiskey club where they sample some pretty expensive stuff.

I was unable to access the page where my book review was posted for editing even though I had a log in.

...if the Paypal setup will be restored? My subscription payment isn't going through!

It's an excellent place to ask... Maybe Roxy, Lefty or standingup can chime in with the answer when they get a chance.
