Couple of neat things happening that couldn't wait for a newsletter...

ePluribus Media secured Press credentials for Ilona Meagher to cover the National Conference on Media Reform in Memphis next week. And even better, the day proceeding the Conference is a symposium sponsored by our friends at Media Giraffe. Ilona's involved with that as well. Look for her coverage of the events here!

ePluribus Media also was accepted to the Columbia Journalism School Sulzberger Leadership Program. Way back in the Fall, Nybri asked me to answer some questions about ePluribus Media for Douglas Smith. Doug and I continued corresponding and eventually he invited us to apply to the program. Aaron Barlow, Todd Johnston and I worked on the application, though Aaron did the lion's share of the work. ePluribus Media received the huge honor of being accepted! The program is a year-long, and ePluribus Media will represented by many of us, starting next week where Aaron and I will do the first tour of duty at Columbia. More about this exciting adventure to follow.

Finally, Avahome and Roxy have come up with another beaut of an ePluribus Media banner... on the left and at top... it'll also be on the next newsletter!

So anyone else -- AlanF (?) -- going to be in Memphis next week ? At either the Media Giraffe or Media Reform events? Post below and maybe you guys can meet up!

Unfortunately, I'm not going, but some people from this area are. I've come to know them from a group formed to save progressive radio in Boston. Donna Halper is one of them. She worked in radio for 30 years.

is going, and I think some people from Independent World Television/The Real News are, too.

..used in our village to signify awe when faced with people mixing with or behaving like our betters, which is a mixture of Welsh and English words.

Whenever someone does something special, like serve fish with fish knives or makes known that they went for drinks at the Royal Angelsey Yacht Club, they say "Haen posh, nagi?"

Not sure if that is how you spell it, but it means "That is very posh, isn't it?"

So, "Haen posh, nagi ePluribus Media?"

hopefully, it keeps hubris at bay  -- how's that for mixing metaphors!

...immediately. LOVE it. ^5 Avahome and Roxy! Clever and cute and classy.

Cho and Aaron and Todd: ^5's to you, too. Can't wait to hear how your Columbian adventure plays out. The amount of hard work and focus and intelligence that I've seen come from the three of you in the past year will serve you well. I think you can even skip out on part of the "Innovation and Taking Risks" seminar; the ePM model's got the innovation part down cold!

So glad to be a part of what ePluribus Media has been doing this past couple of years. And looking fwd to covering the events next week in Memphis for ePM.

Btw, Bill Densmore of the Media Giraffe Project personally emailed to ask if I was able to make it to their Journalism That Matters seminar -- and when he did, saying:

It would be terrific if you could make it because ePluribus is one model of where journalism may be heading, and the convened editors ought to hear about it.

Another great opportunity afforded me by the unparalelled support at all levels that so many of us get from you guys here at ePM...I can't toot the horn loud enough!

Enjoy the program Cho, Aaron, and Todd. You earned it, my friends.
