UPDATED PHOTOS-- New shots below the fold -- Photos by JeninRI.

ePMedia folks attending and congregating include: D.E. Ford, Ilona, JeninRI, Timroff, KT, Inquisitive Raven, Lefty Limblog, BarbinMD, HeyThereItsEric, Susie Dow -- let me know whom I am forgetting!

Timroff gave Kos an ePluribus Media YKos tee shirt; Joe Wilson told JeninRI, upon meeting her, that ePluribus Media does good work.

Here's a link to Kay Shepherd's first podcast from Vegas, Baby!

Tim's already interviewed Carter and has more interviews lined up. Look and listen for Ilona, on a panel coming up later.

Later photos added in below the fold. And a Saturday commentary up as well, Fake Bush and Real Dean.

Hey, Tim, great question! C-SPAN 2 aired the MetaKos panel discussion live; just got done watching it, and it was tons better than watching Boxer at lunch (no offense, Senator).

Tim asked the panel about the issue of anonymity on blogs, in light of what recently happened with Armando it was timely and relevant. Kos and Hunter gave some lengthy answers that advised readers to focus on content rather than name or pseudonym. There is a stigma, though, one of credibility, that I still thinks hangs over the blogger's pseudonym; maybe, eventually, it will become the standard, accepted practice?

I hope you all are having as great a time being there as I am watching it from home.

...especially here on ePluribus media, because of the core mission of this site.

Frankly , I thought the particular incident to which Timroff referred ridiculous (although certainly not his question). It was a knee jerk, hysterical reaction to " protect one of our own" that was full of hypocrisy.

It is strange, is it not, that only a few days ago I was asking what changes might ensue as a result of YKos and mentioned the question of our anonymous blogging as one of the things affected? Then on the eve of a conference where a thousand of the most active bloggers on DKos make themselves publicly known to each other, one of its leading members complains about real life merging with his blogging life.

The one aspect that none of the diaries on this matter have discussed is integrity. Whilst holding the rest of the media to count on this very question, and attacking columnist after columnist on this issue, bloggers have all sort of "rules" to protect themselves from being so challenged. Pathetic. Until this is faced head on, blogging will remain peripheral.

And... I have to count myself in with the guilty ones.
though I try not to jump into screeds against those who write under a pseudonym.

I agree mine's a poor reason, but in this day and age, my livelihood would be jeopardized if my clients knew I am a liberal blogger.

a poor reason.  Food on the table is far more important than a blog.

That's all I'm going to say. Dead fucking on!

I've stayed out of the fray on the anoymity question because I, too, think the incident question was a heaping pile of manure.

You've yet again captured an issue with a clarion voice.

... since I have struggled with this issue for over a year (when I was just one of the hoards of commenters over on Kos, I didn't worry much about being just a UserID).

When it became necessary for me to be a little more active (and therefore visible), all of your issues, Welshman, were foremost for me -- about which I have endlessly bored and sought advice from the good folks at ePluribus Media.

Aaron Barlow, the very first time we "met," now over a year ago, stressed the importance of writers and transparency.  I still believe that he is correct.

I also believe that there is a place for pseudonyms, but the user has to acknowledge the risks and the potential for being "outed." Consider Mark Twain, or Atrios, for that matter.

Now, to the bigger problem: There is some hypocrisy in the blogging ranks.   A few (??) of the blogging celebrities seem to be the first to jump on cases when "they" (the neo-con bad guys) use pseudonyms, "suck" up to msm or the politicians in power, are self-aggrandizing, plagiarize, lack intellectual rigor, or use non-profit "research groups" for partisan purposes, including Starr-like witch hunts to dig up dirt on their political opponents.

Yet, when enough power or opportunity is before them, they commit exactly those same acts themselves.

This post may be one that I "suppress" as being inappropriate.  Basically, just wanted to say: "hear, hear" to the words of wmtriallawyer and welshman.

But I was.  AND you had your T-Shirt on.  Yes, I checked.  Mom's do that.

It was a very timely question - very good.

Boxer was OK, pretty Senatorial in answering the questions (bob, weave, bob), but it was still fun to see her on there.

Group hug for all of you booth-manners!  Here's a virtual beer toast also!

I put up a couple of posts with links and a couple of suggested questions over at Investigates... gotta drop off the face of the blogosphere for RL work for about 18 hours, though. If anyone can add to what little I posted, please do.
