That Was the Month That Was
During April, several schools of journalism (among others) have visited our tools for citizen journalism -- such as the collections of interviewing tips, legal requirements for using recorded information, plagiarism, and so forth in our Citizen Journalism folder and our Toolbox on the Community site.
Also on the Community site, Wmmtriallawyer, Welshman, and wanderindiana all analyzed the evolving direction of Blogtopia (Yes! skippy coined that phrase). In April we again had over 12,000 visitors, in fact our second highest month ever! Next month we will probably top 100,000 visitors overall.

Rba's "Un-News" roundup
Tasty appetizers! Rba has an ongoing daily "Un-News" thread on the Community where folks can post links and snippets of articles and news that are important, but somehow slipped beneath the radar. Check out what he is doing and post your links and news. His commentaries go up at the beginning of
each day.
Welshman's News Agency
As a main course, Welshman's focusing on a different type of news digging than we've been doing. His explanation and call for volunteers is here
Brian Keeler's run for NY State Senate
As a side dish, if you haven't heard, Nybri is running for state senate in New York. He sent us this announcement to include in the newsletter with his request for help.
"After clacking away at the keyboard for ePluribus Media, Political Cortex
and DailyKos, NYBri, one of our founders, has decided to leave behind his trusty mac and make his way to the front lines of the real battle...and run for the New York State Senate."
Visit Keeler2006.com, and join the campaign. He's looking for tech help, volunteers, contributions and plain old ePM support.
Sightings -- Desserts!

Below are just a few of the traditional print media that have referenced some of the well researched and written works you guys have been producing. - Chronogram requested permission to reprint D.E.Ford's stunning Blaming the Veteran Series, originally printed on the ePluribus Media Journal.
- Fox News interviewed ilona Meagher for its Vets' Mental Health Needs Intensify which provides a link to the ePluribus Media PTSD timelines for which so many of you have been sending links and data.
- California Awareness links to our Citizen Journalism Toolbox (in the upper right menu)... with this intro:
The watchdog project offers those interested in monitoring the sunshine levels of local government agencies an opportunity to do so and report, as citizen journalists, in an online chronicle and forum supported by CalAware.
- Over at AmericaBlog, John Avarosis links to the ePluribus Media Journal's plagiarism feature in his report on the Bloggers Panel.
- And our favorite comment over at the Orange Mothership by Musing Graze [Thanks, Musing Graze!].

- The first piece in Susie Dow's Missing Man series that she's been researching for over a year
- The first report investigation into the internet threads that Luaptifer and txj have been following, also for over a year
Finally, if you like what we've been doing, don't be shy about volunteering to help with YearlyKos, the timelines, editing, fact-checking, creating graphics for stories, writing book reviews, or just participating in the Community site by posting commentaries or comments. And of course, consider donating to keep the servers humming. If you have a tip, please submit it to leads@epluribusmedia.org.
If you have a story you'd like to submit for publication as an ePluribus Media article in the Journal (as opposed to posting as a commentary on Community), submit it to editors@epluribusmedia.org. For information and some guidelines, check out the submissions guidelines.
And don't forget, if you have any book buying planned, consider Powell's. Clicking through the Powell's bookstore ad at the bottom of the home page on the ePMedia Community site gives us 7.5%!
You make the "us" in ePluribus Media a reality.
