March Hare or Mad Hatter?
No matter. Thank you ePMedia folk for your generous commitments of time, energy, dollars, art and writing! Our favorite comment on Timroff's Campaign Finance Reform story on Dailykos:

We also serve who only donate and recommend.
Electronic Darwinism by Moody Loner on Tue Feb 21, 2006

The past month was the best so far with traffic and citations, thanks to everyone's work. And thanks to Roxy, Timroff, and Stoy, ePluribus Media has added a ePMedia Store where you can get mugs, caps, mousepads, t-shirts and more.
And even if you aren't in the market for ePMedia garb, any book buying you do by clicking through the Powell's bookstore ad at the bottom of the home page on the ePMedia Community site gives us 7.5%!
What's new?

You guys made the Finalist list for the Koufax 2005 Awards in Best Community Blog and Most Deserving of Greater Recognition.
We also didn't want to miss any of our members or friends who made the finalist cut, so Avahome started a commentary here. Feel free to add to the list so that none of our friends or members get overlooked! There are so many great blogs and sites out there, it is quite an honor for ePluribus Media to have been nominated, never mind having actually made it to Finalist. Voting begins soon, if not immediately! Take a moment and visit Wampum to put in your "ballots" for those blogs and writers you think are worthy. And if you are able, the good folks at Wampum can use some support.
Now on to some highlights from the past month.
public notice :: :: :: buzz-it!
What's Been Happening?
Journal Stories:
- D.E. Ford, Jeff Huber, and I.L. Meagher researched, interviewed, and wrote an excellent three part series, Blaming the Veteran. We learned from D. E. Ford about reaction on Capitol Hill to their work:
Kirt, very excitedly, called me yesterday to say, "You cannot imagine how far and wide your article has been disseminated and who all is talking about ePluribus Media." At the Institute of Medicine meeting (on Monday) Kirt said that a number of players had read our article and that the "buzz" was that the mainstream media had dropped the ball but that ePluribus Media was really giving the soldiers' and veterans' issues the exposure. One fellow who is testifying before the House (or Senate or both) today had contacted Kirt via our article and was basing some of his testimony on our angle.
- Jeff Huber continued his great series on the Presidental "war powers" with his 10 War-Powers Myths.
- Tim Smith (Timroff on Dailykos) Democrat's Reform Bill Threatens Third Party Financing which Chris Bowers over on MyDD lauded and referenced in his own front page post.
In an excellent article that features solid, real-world reporting, over at Dailykos ePluribus Media's Timothy Smith reports on a new campaign finance law proposed Representative David Obey.
- Keith Barratt's (Welshman on Dailykos) The Sanitized Horrors of Guantánamo Bay ran as a Journal piece. It received over 2200 hits in a 24 hour period.
and on the Community site
- Avahome, Kfred and Roxy put together an anniversary celebration, complete with cake, party favors, balloons and candle blowing dinosaurs. We've swept up the confetti, but February 14th has been declared ePluribus Media's birthday, since, as Kfred says, our work comes from our hearts.
- Kfred, wanderindiana, and Luaptifer have been digging into the Enron Mailbag; Enron Files: Abramhoff? Reed? Delay? Yes! is just one of several many ePluribus Media members did in conjunction with the data digging project.
- BarbinMD's Cheney Shooting four part series, split between the Orange Mothership and ePluribus Media drove our community site meter bonkers...over 2600 hits in 12 hours.
- Great new commentaries on the community site include Land of Enchantment's great pieces on Pombo and the plundering of our national parks, ilona's continuing series on our Veterans and PTSD, Jeff Huber's ongoing commentaries of all things military as well as all the other wonderful commentaries by bronxdem, Greyhawk, Land of Enchantment, Renee in Ohio, seenos, Man Eegee, Vivian Pettyjohn, Duke1676, Captain Future, Kfred, populistamerica, Welshman, zx2zx2, wanderindiana, BrianPublius, Silence, Cedwyn, Timroff, RenaRF, Kagro X,avahome, jeninRI, Vivian Pettyjohn, JimStaro, rba, polydactyl, txj, standingup, mataliandy, Jeff Huber, DEFuning, ilona, XicanoPwr, BarbinMD, Luaptifer, bonobo, and Aaron Barlow.
Other Stuff about our sites:
- Thanks again to Roxy, Stoy, and Timroff, our store is up.
- We Got Mail is a quiet testimony from the Director of the Center for Environmental Journalism at Michigan State University that professional journalists understand the value of searchable timelines projects!
- We get mail about the timelines, especially the work ilona and jeninRI have done on the PTSD timeline:
just want to express my gratitude to all that you are doing.
It is much needed and very much appreciated by those of us in the military that you are helping.
Keep up the excellent work.
- and we get comments on other blogs -- The one below was posted on the LeftCoaster!
have 'My MSN' as my homepage.
It depends on what time I wake up (or can't sleep) on what I check first. First is TLC, then L & L.
Next, I check the 'real' news, Raw Story & Huffington Post. Catch-up on articles at Truth-Out and Common Dreams.
Then I check ePluribus Media. Then it's off to the first blog I ever stayed with (I got it from Liberal Oasis) LEFT is RIGHT.
Then the other media outlets, my bank, and my e-mails.
Who was then answered by:
I know that rollercoaster, not fun at all. bbtb, I just love the ePluribus Media blog, thanks!
