Update 2: So "how" does Lieberman pay back the WH and all his Republican Bush friends who have donated so generously to the Lieberman campaign if he's re-elected to the Senate? According to Joseph at CannonFire, Lieberman and Cheney are all the swing votes the Bush White House needs in the Senate.

What follows isn't much of a commentary, but there's a CT family I have watched from afar through the lens of the blogosphere and occasionally, from a distance, in "real life."

Anyway, I think the whole kit and kaboodle is terrific: Mom, Dad and A.

For those who have followed the "The Kiss" float, the builder, Dad, wrote the best ever diary to his son, Atom...who, like many of us this past week, took a Lieberman punch to the gut. The diary Frigging A.. is awesome.

Here's one paragraph to give you the feel of this father's pride in his son.  

It was a long shot that Ned would get the party votes needed to force a primary. We went to meetings. You made me take you all over the place, to a pizza shop. OK, there were 50 or 60 people there. You got angry at me because I did not change my party affiliation soon enough to help you with petitions.

We did commercials, we went to book signings and we met the Mighty Koz. We bought a tent and did community events for Ned. At Glastonbury remember how excited you were about the 100-person turn out? We volunteered. I hate doing phones!

Ned got more than enough votes for a primary. You were there, remember? Remember how amazing that was?
