Happy New Year!

May 2006 bring you and yours health, happiness and continued freedom.

And if you get a chance, use the Powell's affiliate program for any book buying you might be planning. Each purchase you make by clicking through the ad at the bottom of the home page on the ePMedia Community site gives us 7.5%!

What’s new?

It was January 28, 2005 that Susan Gardner posted her famous invitation to join her in speculation about a reporter named Jeff Gannon. You all accepted that call!

And here almost a year later, ePMedia continues to produce original stories and materials based on our research and sourcing, thanks to all you investigators and researchers who are digging through public information and through great pattern recognition, connecting the dots.

The editors and production crew have been kept hopping with stories, articles and reviews that the writers have pulled together from the Investigates material and other information.

public notice :: :: :: buzz-it!
Just to highlight a few that garnered cyberspace and MSM media attention during December:

  • On December 28th, in our our public sites' fifth month, we hit our first 10,000 visitor month. (August was about 5,000, September was approximately 7,000; October 7,500; November, 4300; and December was over 10,000. Our five month total is 37,500 or so.) Sites linking to our stories and commentaries in December included Salon.com's Daou Report, Raw Story, and John Aravosis' AmericaBlog.
  • Google News has reviewed www.epluribusmedia.org and will be including it in the near future. You should be able to find ePluribus Media articles in Google News within a few weeks.
  • Jeff Huber has been ripping up cyberspace with his War Powers series: The Ides of December on the Journal, and his other commentaries on the Community site, including Smoke, Mirrors, and War Powers have been linked to by countless blogs. (Daou Reports link)
  • Wanderindiana, Kfred, HeyThereItsEric, SawcieLacky, and Luaptifer focused their original research and work documented the Heritage Foundation’s ghosting of the FEMA Second Stage Review and the consequences of that plan on the response to FEMA in the Journal pieces: What will happen to FEMA? The piece featured the Katrina photo journalism of Sheldon Morton, who kindly granted us permission to use many of his works in the articles. (Raw story link)
  • Kay Shepherd’s newest podcast includes a wicked reading by Aaron Barlow of his poem “Jessica, Go ahead,” a poem constructed entirely of Scott McCellan’s answers from the Nov 9 press briefing.
  • We had two new reviews: one from ePMedia member Lefty Limblog with his review of Cindy Sheehan's Not One More Mother’s Child as well as Aaron Barlow’s review of Peter Henry’s Becoming Mr. Henry.
  • ilona worked with JeninRI to compile the Post Traumatic Stress Disease (PTSD) incidents of violence timeline. We now have three interactive, searchable timelines (Katrina, Rita and the PTSD acts of violence). If you have information that should be added or want to help, contact JeninRI at: timelines@epluribusmedia.org. Contact her also if you are interested in entering data or in fact checking the timelines.
  • Cedwyn, ConnecticutMan1, and CabinGirl kept our Community site involved in the Booman Tribbers’ 12 Days of Justice series on Alito.

If you like what we've been doing, don't be shy about volunteering to help with the timelines, write a review, post commentaries or comments on the Community site, or jump into an investigation. And of course, consider donating to keep the servers humming. If you have a tip, please submit it to leads@epluribusmedia.org.

If you have a story you'd like to submit for publication as an ePluribus Media article in the Journal (as opposed to posting as a commentary on Community), submit it to editors@epluribusmedia.org.

You make the "us" in ePluribus Media a reality.
