I wish we had more candidates like Lichtman running for office.  He really nails it here:

Today there is too much government intruding in our private lives and too little government meeting our needs. George Bush and his allies in Congress have pulled off a revolution in American politics, building a conservative big government that clamps down on our privacy and personal freedom, neglects its responsibilities to working- and middle-class Americans, and pays off big-time to their wealthy corporate clients.

"Conservative big government."

They talk about a smaller government, but always build a bigger one--and not by providing services that people need, but by developing new methods for keeping us under control and making more money for the rich.
