We're Going to YearlyKos!

Thanks to all of you who volunteered to help staff our table!

Let the ePMedia YearlyKos Planning Team know if you are going and want to meet and greet! Email us at leads@epluribusmedia.org. Check out who is going and what's what at: Yearly Kos Updates

We received an invite to MediaGiraffe Summit — in Massachussetts, June 29th through July 1. Helen Thomas is the keynote speaker. Registration is limited to 1000 participants. If anyone is interested in going — we've been offered a discounted registration of $200.00 per individual, if ten ePluribusMedia folks register. We have no connection with MediaGiraffe, other than they offered this discount. To find out more check out their invitation and their program. If you are interested in going, email us at Editors@epluribusmedia.org or post a comment in the signup commentary about the summit in Public Notice.

What Happened in March?

No surprise that DailyKos won the Koufax for best Community Blog. But what a delight for us that we made it to the final round of ten! And oh, what company we keep! Kos, TPMCafe, Huffington Post, Street Prophets, Bring it On!, MyLeftwing, Booman, Panda's thumb, and MyDD.

Congratulations to all the winners, and especially to Georgia10 — who received the Koufax for Best Commenter!

Interested in a reduced registration to MediaGiraffe?

by rcs1

[editor's note, by BarbinMD]

ePluribus Media received an invitation to attend, and when we called them, the MediaGiraffe summit coordinators offered ePluribus Media members a discounted group rate of 200.00 per participant.

Note that registration at the Summit is limited to 1000 and Helen Thomas is the keynote speaker. Even the 200.00 is pretty expensive for most of us ... so here are the links to the MediaGiraffe invitation and the Program

The Board of Directors is still discussing any other involvement, but the group discount rate is there for us to use, or not, without other obligation, if ten people are interested. If you are interested in attending, post a comment below and we can get back to you... or you can email us at editors@epluribusmedia.org.

If you can let us know by April 15 or so, we can follow up with the MediaGiraffe people that we do or do not have enough interest!

Thanks!

March Newsletter

March Hare or Mad Hatter?

No matter. Thank you ePMedia folk for your generous commitments of time, energy, dollars, art and writing! Our favorite comment on Timroff's Campaign Finance Reform story on Dailykos:

We also serve who only donate and recommend.
Electronic Darwinism by Moody Loner on Tue Feb 21, 2006

The past month was the best so far with traffic and citations, thanks to everyone's work. And thanks to Roxy, Timroff, and Stoy, ePluribus Media has added a ePMedia Store where you can get mugs, caps, mousepads, t-shirts and more.

And even if you aren't in the market for ePMedia garb, any book buying you do by clicking through the Powell's bookstore ad at the bottom of the home page on the ePMedia Community site gives us 7.5%!

What's new?

You guys made the Finalist list for the Koufax 2005 Awards in Best Community Blog and Most Deserving of Greater Recognition.

We also didn't want to miss any of our members or friends who made the finalist cut, so Avahome started a commentary here. Feel free to add to the list so that none of our friends or members get overlooked!

There are so many great blogs and sites out there, it is quite an honor for ePluribus Media to have been nominated, never mind having actually made it to Finalist. Voting begins soon, if not immediately! Take a moment and visit Wampum to put in your "ballots" for those blogs and writers you think are worthy. And if you are able, the good folks at Wampum can use some support.

Now on to some highlights from the past month.

ePluribusMedia declares February 14th is our birthday!

by rcs1

Update [2006-2-15 11:6:37 by Cho]: Hope you all don't mind, but I am cleaning up the party hats and favors, sweeping the floor to free it of cake crumbs... if for some reason I have been overhasty in removing your favorite animation from your sig lines, email me and I will restore them!

[editor's note, by wanderindiana] Added to public notice and promoted. Celebrate!

Happy Birthday, Happy Anniversary!

We are declaring that February 14th is our Birthday!  We really couldn't pick any one particular date because ePluribusMedia evolved from the blogging denizons through multiple stages.  Was it January 28th when SusanG asked for help in identifying Gannon/Guckert?  Was it during a mass cellphone and emailing swirl of "we really should do this, we owe it to honest people!"

Was it the day of incorporation of the fledgling citizen journal, the day the website went up, the day the first article was posted?  Oh my!  Which date?

We decided that we speak from our hearts and minds in our research and writings and therefore the "Day of the Heart" should mark our genesis.  So it is written, so it will be done!

AND we would like you to join us in the celebration!

Come sign the birthday card we sent ourselves here at the Community site:  Birthday Card!

If you have a blog and would like to put our birthday card up here's the link:   For YOUR blog

And, if you like, you can add a little "cake" to your signature.  Here's the link for that too:  Calorie Free Cake!

Celebrate!  Celebrate!  Dance to the Music of Citizen Journalism!

So what did the groundhog see?

You all have been busy busy! -- no hibernating through winter among the ePluribus Media folks, that's for sure.

But before we get into listing what went on in January, a little "happy birthday to us" is in order.

Avahome, Kfred and Roxy have been cooking up some birthday cake and Luaptifer wrote, without even knowing it, a poem celebrating our birth.   Come sign the birthday card we sent ourselves over at the Community site Happy Birthday to US!

If you have a blog and would like to put our birthday card up here's the link First Anniversary Card.

And, if you like, you can add a little "cake" to your signature.  Here's the link sig_cake.gif.

Note though that Dailykos prefers that graphics not be used signatures, so consider adding a link to our donate page instead.  For example, "Happy 1st Birthday ePluribus Media! Help us reach 2 with a <a(space here)href="http://www.epluribusmedia.org/donate.htm">donation< /a>.

January News

Happy New Year!

May 2006 bring you and yours health, happiness and continued freedom.

And if you get a chance, use the Powell's affiliate program for any book buying you might be planning. Each purchase you make by clicking through the ad at the bottom of the home page on the ePMedia Community site gives us 7.5%!

What’s new?

It was January 28, 2005 that Susan Gardner posted her famous invitation to join her in speculation about a reporter named Jeff Gannon. You all accepted that call!

And here almost a year later, ePMedia continues to produce original stories and materials based on our research and sourcing, thanks to all you investigators and researchers who are digging through public information and through great pattern recognition, connecting the dots.

The editors and production crew have been kept hopping with stories, articles and reviews that the writers have pulled together from the Investigates material and other information.
