So another call went out today on the Big Orange, urging people to register, and for groups to sign up for tables.
So the question is, who from ePM is planning to go this year? Dania Audax and I are planning to drive to Chicago (since Clevo is only 8 hours away) a few days in advance to sightsee and meet BarbinMD for dinner. I'd be glad to work the table, do some liveblogging (I've got a laptop now, so I can actually post from the floor) and I have a new source for t-shirts -- we can actually get silkscreened shirts, much higher quality, and I can get them cheap. Anyway, do we want to get a table? Who all is going? What do we want to do? [editor's note, by wanderindiana] The answers to Timroff's questions: yes, ePluribus Media will be exhibiting again at YearlyKos 2007; I have no comprehensive list of attendees yet, but I registered today; and we're working on it, and you can help us. See the comments for more info. public notice :: discuss :: (new) (13 comments) :: buzz-it!

Sat Nov 18, 2006 at 08:33:20 PM EST ![]() Exhilarating November!!Hat tip to AvaHome, Cho and Roxy for this month's blogad. Got a great idea or image for a future blogad? Join in and post your ideas and graphics. In light of the recent election results, we send a special congratulations to our volunteer members, in recognition of all the work they did. Besides keeping the ePluribus Media train on its tracks and going full-speed ahead, many hours of additional time were spent on getting out the vote, campaign drops, research, poll-watching and overall community participation, which will undoubtedly make a difference for many years to come. Congratulations, Kudos - and Thank you!!! Being relative toddlers in blogotopia it is astonishing, and very pleasing, the way our usage numbers are climbing. The number of visitors has increased eight-fold since last November! Since August 1st 2005 -- just slightly over a year, we have had about 281,000 (over a quarter of a million) visits to the community site -- the journal was added in much later and we've never tracked the number of visitors to Investigates site. The highest monthly visitor count we've ever had was last month: October 2006 with 40,000 visits. But as of November 18th 2006, we are already at about 37,000 visits, poised to at least meet our highest ever monthly total. Help us keep this momentum going by considering a donation to keep the servers humming. We can really use the help over the Holidays. We have to keep those turkeys and reindeer fed!
Our effort to get credible news "out there" would not be possible without many contributions. Kudos to all those folks who toil behind the front lines, GreyHawk
for getting crossposts of stories up on the regular blog watering
holes, (not to forget his great work writing up research and working
with the Investigative bunch), standingup, susie dow, Roxy, avahome,
JeninRI, Aaron Barlow...
more below the fold ...

One year ago, in August, this ePluribus Media Community site went live. We never recorded the number of visitors to the Investigates site or the podcasts, which are both "unmetered" but we just checked and as of August public notice :: full story :: (new) (1 comment, 1360 words in story) :: buzz-it!

We are all a little tuckered out from going to YearlyKos and Media Giraffe -- both outstanding experiences for those who attended and those watched, listened, and read. See ilona's and Susie Dow's commentaries for some of the flavor of YKos if you missed it. Photo Essay: We Were ALL at YK2006 and check out the gorgeous work Susie Dow and Timroff did on the banner and table at YearlyKos & ePluribus Media: A Good Fit. At Media Giraffe, ePluribus Media got to hook up with some great Citizen Journalist local and national online news outfits. The RSS feeds for H2otown, New Haven Independent, The NewStandard, The Forum, CTNewsJunkie, and WestportNow are available for anyone who wants to add them to their User ID display preferences on the Community site... and iBrattleboro's will be added soon. Got questions on how to do it? -- Post below and someone will respond!
For more on the conference, check out ilona's report ePluribus Media Giraffe Project: A Great Blend and Media Giraffe's site Media Giraffe Project. A number of ePluribus Media subscribers were there -- for example, Left in Lowell -- but we missed hooking up! We did manage to catch up with some folks on the blogroll -- Bruce Wilson and Frederick Clarkson from Talk2Action. public notice :: full story :: (new) (1 comment, 1440 words in story) :: buzz-it!

And don't forget the reminder from Timroff:
Media Giraffe We've been invited to be on the Citizen Journalism panel. Interesting tracks and speakers (Helen Thomas is the keynote, the blogosphere's Frederick Clarkson, among others, will be attending). Best yet: As of this writing, Ilona Meagher, Mike Cote, Todd Johnston, and possibly Greyhawk will be representing ePluribus Media at the conference. In case any of you want to check it out for a day, there are day rates available. The early registration period ended May 29th, but according to the website, there's still room. more ePMedia newsy stuff below the fold. public notice :: full story :: (new) (1464 words in story) :: buzz-it!

Only 200 registrations are left for Yearly Kos.
If you plan to attend Yearly Kos June 8-11 in Las Vegas, and have not registered, now would be the time to do it. ePluribus Media will have a table there as an exhibitor. Please stop by and say hello. public notice :: full story :: (new) (4 comments, 68 words in story) :: buzz-it!

That Was the Month That WasDuring April, several schools of journalism (among others) have visited our tools for citizen journalism -- such as the collections of interviewing tips, legal requirements for using recorded information, plagiarism, and so forth in our Citizen Journalism folder and our Toolbox on the Community site. Also on the Community site, Wmmtriallawyer, Welshman, and wanderindiana all analyzed the evolving direction of Blogtopia (Yes! skippy coined that phrase). In April we again had over 12,000 visitors, in fact our second highest month ever! Next month we will probably top 100,000 visitors overall. public notice :: full story :: (new) (10 comments, 1417 words in story) :: buzz-it!
