Last year's schedule used overlapping 90 minute blocks for table coverage; you can see last year's planning commentaries in the Public Notice section for an idea of how the process went the first time around.

Since we're still 8 months out from YK2007, it would be great to get as many table volunteers as possible to commit as far in advance as possible.  :-)  We'll have more time to plan and coordinate this year, which is a definite plus.

Yes - the registration form to have an exhibit has been sent in, the Board of Directors approved the funding. Discussion is happening about what we need to be "outstanding" this year. That concept will involve multi-media and the big side screens during the breaks (it was our idea and YDK likes it). We're still working out technical details. Lefty and Ilona will most likely be there, but their job will be to snag VIPs for interviews (Timroff will probably get double duty). Susie Dow has some things we can reuse from last year. I was going to try to put together a sortof timetable and then plunk it in Wander's lap since he will end up being the Chicago driver, if you will. I wasn't gonna bug him until January though.

Have your ears been burning and/or ringing?

Over the past few weeks there has been a "behind-the-scenes" discussion going on, fueled by Lefty Limblog and kfred, on how we might contribute a little something extra this year. The upshot -- the board has already voted to go again!

If you'd like, I can send you copies of the messages in that thread - the same goes for anyone interested in helping with the planning and coordination of the ePluribus Media presence at YK2007 in Chicago.

I'm planning on being there this year - hey, I can practically walk to the Chicago city limits, and I'm 20 minutes from McCormick Place in good traffic... and there are others who have mentioned their intention to attend.

Just let me know if you want to join the discussion list, but feel free to share ideas here, as well.

I'd like to contribute as much as possible to the cause, and was already planning to donate as much time and energy necessary to make this happen, since we had so much fun doing it last year.

so, yes, please send me the discussion so far, and help me get up to speed. I'd really like to get fully involved in the process.
